This mini-course explores a trauma-informed methodology that fosters positive interactions, prevents the escalation of negative behaviors, and cultivates connections, empathy, and inclusivity. During this mini-course strategies are shared to ensure gaining an awareness related to our response when triggered by negative behaviors. We discuss awareness, physiological responses, and the specific behaviors that affect us as individuals. We learn how our responses can foster a cycle of negative behaviors, even escalation and that refusing to give our attention, relationship and energy during these moments can produce positive changes in behaviors. The Nurtured Heart Approach incorporates proactive measures to cultivate a positive classroom and campus culture that ensures all students feel acknowledged.   Full training sessions encompass engaging activities, small group collaboration, and personalized experiences to deepen understanding and promote growth across all aspects of NHA. Participants will acquire strategies that can be readily applied to students, families, and colleagues immediately upon completing the course. Implementing NHA will transform educators' daily experiences into ones characterized by positivity and achievement, consequently fostering student well-being and success.
